White Patch

✨ Little Tigers – Learning, Fun, and Respect ✨

Physical:
• Guard stance
• 1–2 punches
• Animal races (bear crawl, frog jump)

Teamwork:
• Partner high-fives
• Share pads

Personal:
• Say “thank you” at end of class
• Bring own gloves/water

Rules:
• Bow before/after training
• Stop when coach says

Terminology:
• Sawadee = Hello in Thai

Yellow Patch

✨ Little Tigers – Exploring, Cheering, and Growing ✨


Physical:
• Jab–cross–knee combo
• Hopping on one leg
• Skipping 10 jumps

Teamwork:
• Hold a pad for partner safely
• Cheer teammates

Personal:
• Shout “OOSH!” when striking

Rules:
• No rough play
• Touch gloves before pad games

Terminology:
• Wai = Polite Greeting

Green Patch

 ✨ Little Tigers – Brave, Smart, and Ready to Try ✨


Physical:
• Roundhouse kick intro
• Side steps
• Shadowboxing game

Teamwork:
• Partner knee drill
• Listening game (copy Kru)

Personal:
• Set small goal (e.g., 10 punches without stopping)

Rules:
• Learn “yes range” (hitting pads) vs “no range” (too close)

Terminology:
• Learn “Wai” (bow) and do
• Know 4 Muay Thai weapons (punch, kick, knee, elbow)

Blue Patch

✨ Little Tigers – Brave, Bold, and Confident ✨


Physical:
• Combo = punch–kick–knee
• Balance test on one leg 10 seconds

Teamwork:
• Help partner adjust stance
• Swap pads politely

Personal:
• No talking when Coaches / Teachers are talking

Rules:
• Why we wear gloves & shin guards

Terminology:
• Learn “Wai Kru” (respect dance) meaning
• Bow on/off mats

Brown Patch

✨ Little Tigers – Focused, Respectful, and Ready to Protect ✨


Physical:
• Combo = punch –elbow–knee - kick
• Balance walk across pads/line (control + focus)
• Hold stance for 10 seconds without wobbling

Teamwork:
• Help partner with pad height or position
• Practice “mirror drill” (copy partner’s movement)
• Play Tag games well and with sportsmanship

Personal:
• Show self-control (calm stance, wait your turn)
• Bring full gear without reminders
• Say one positive thing about a teammate

Rules:
• Explain why we bow before and after training
• Demonstrate safe distance before striking
• Show how to put on gloves properly

Terminology:
• Muaythai is from Thailand
• Explain what “respect” means in training

Black Patch

✨ Little Tigers – Strong, Respectful, and Ready to Lead ✨


Physical:
• Show all 8 limbs (punch, kick, knee, elbow)

Teamwork:
• Perform a self defence with another student
• Help a new student

Personal:
• Show independence (remember gear, line up sharp)

• Have it confirmed that you are behaving well at home 

Rules:
• Explain 1–2 training rules in own words

Terminology:

• Count 1 - 5 in Thai
• Explain why “Muay Thai is the art of 8 limbs”

Junior Grading Syllabus - 8 - 12 yrs

1. White Armband – Beginner

  • Skills: Basic stance & guard, jab & cross, roundhouse kick, teep (push kick).
  • Knowledge: Thai greetings – Sawasdee (hello/goodbye). Count 1–3 in Thai (Neung, Song, Sam).
  • Self Defence: Escape from front wrist grab.
  • Values: Respect, listening, effort.
  • Quote: “Every champion was once a beginner who refused to give up.”

2. White & Yellow Armband – Foundations

  • Skills: Add basic knee strike, elbows on pads (non-contact), jab–cross–kick combo.
  • Knowledge: Thai words – Chok (boxing), Sok (elbow). Count 1–5 in Thai.
  • Self Defence: Defence from being grabbed from behind (arm release, turn).
  • Values: Confidence, teamwork, control.
  • Quote: “Strong roots build strong fighters.”

3. White & Green Armband – Development

  • Skills: Punch–kick–knee combinations, clinch basics with knee, checking a kick.
  • Knowledge: Thai words – Kao (knee), Teh (kick). Count 1–7 in Thai.
  • Self Defence: Defence from a straight punch (block & counter).
  • Values: Balance, focus, responsibility.
  • Quote: “Balance in body creates balance in life.”

4. White & Blue Armband – Intermediate

  • Skills: Advanced combos (4–5 strikes), catching a kick & counter, evasive footwork.
  • Knowledge: Full counting 1–10 in Thai (Neung–Sip).
  • Self Defence: Defence from a kick (catch & sweep).
  • Values: Discipline, respect for equipment, helping juniors.
  • Quote: “Skill is nothing without discipline.”

5. White & Brown Armband – Advanced Junior

  • Skills: Advanced clinch (turns, sweeps), spinning techniques (spinning hook kick, jump turning kick).
  • Knowledge: Purpose of Wai Kru / Ram Muay.
  • Self Defence: Defence against headlock / strong grab.
  • Values: Leadership, humility, patience.
  • Quote: “The harder you train, the stronger your spirit becomes.”

6. White & Black Armband – Junior Champion

  • Skills: Demonstration of all learned techniques, including jump spinning roundhouse kick. Full pad round with combinations, clinch, defence & counters.
  • Knowledge: Explains Muay Thai values – Respect, Honour, Tradition, Discipline.
  • Self Defence: Combines defences (grabs, punches, kicks).
  • Values: Role model inside & outside the gym.
  • Quote: “A true champion is measured not by victory, but by respect and honour.”

Adult Grading SylLabus - 13yrs +

Stage 1 – White

  • Skills: Basic stance, guard, footwork.
  • Boxing: Jab, cross, hook.
  • Kicks: Teep (front kick), roundhouse.
  • Knees/Elbows: Straight knee, horizontal elbow.
  • Clinch: Basic neck control.
  • Self Defence: Block and evade straight punches.
  • Thai Language: Count 1–3 in Thai, “Sawadee” (hello).
  • Conditioning: 10 push-ups, 20 sit-ups.

Stage 2 – Yellow

  • Boxing: Jab–cross, 1–2–3 combos.
  • Kicks: Body kick, switch kick.
  • Knees/Elbows: Step-in knee, diagonal elbow.
  • Clinch: Turning opponent.
  • Self Defence: Defence against wrist grab.
  • Thai Language: Count 1–5 in Thai, “Chok” Boxing .
  • Conditioning: 20 push-ups, 30 sit-ups.

Stage 3 – Yellow & Black

  • Boxing: 4-punch combo with low kick.
  • Kicks: High kick, spinning back elbow.
  • Knees/Elbows: Downward elbow, knees in rhythm in clinch.
  • Clinch: Hands up and through to escape.
  • Self Defence: Defence against front grab/choke.
  • Thai Language: Count 1–7 in Thai, “Teh” = kick.
  • Conditioning: 25 push-ups, 40 sit-ups.

Stage 4 – Green

  • Boxing: 5-punch combo with target area changes.
  • Kicks: Jump roundhouse, spinning hook kick (intro).
  • Knees/Elbows: Flying knee (controlled), uppercut elbow.
  • Clinch: Knee defence, balance drills.
  • Self Defence: Defence against hook punch.
  • Thai Language: Review 1–10, “Sok” = elbow.
  • Conditioning: 30 push-ups, 50 sit-ups.

Stage 5 – Green & Black

  • Boxing: 2 and 3 phase boxing attacks.
  • Kicks: Jump spinning back kick, axe kick (Boran influence).
  • Knees/Elbows: Jump downward elbow.
  • Clinch: Basic sweep from clinch.
  • Self Defence: Defence against rear grab (bear hug).
  • Thai Language: Review 1–10, “Khao” = knee.
  • Conditioning: 35 push-ups, 60 sit-ups, 10 burpees.

Stage 6 – Blue

  • Boxing: Overhand &Flying Punch.
  • Kicks: Jump switch kick, crescent kick.
  • Knees/Elbows: Flying scissor knee, spin elbow.
  • Clinch: Block knees in clinch with shin.
  • Self Defence: Catch and counter body kick.
  • Thai Language: Review 1–10, “Teep” = push kick.
  • Conditioning: 40 push-ups, 80 sit-ups, 20 burpees.

Stage 7 – Blue & Black

  • Boxing: Long combinations with feints and fakes.
  • Kicks: Jump Spinning Roundhouse Kick.
  • Knees/Elbows: Flying elbow.
  • Clinch:  control under pressure.
  • Self Defence: Multiple attacker drills (pads).
  • Thai Language: Review 1–10, “Chok Dee” = good luck.
  • Culture: Introduction to Wai Kru bows.
  • Conditioning: 50 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 25 burpees.

Stage 8 – Brown

  • Boxing: Counter fighting drills – show how boxing counters other weapons.
  • Kicks: Muay Boran-style advanced kicks.
  • Knees/Elbows: Continuous clinch knees.
  • Clinch: Advanced resistance control.
  • Self Defence: Knife defence (escape focus).
  • Thai Language: Review 1–10, “Khun” = respect.
  • Culture: Practice short Ram Muay sequence.
  • Conditioning: 60 push-ups, 120 sit-ups, 30 burpees.

Stage 9 – Brown & Black

  • Boxing/Kicks: Flow sparring with advanced counters.
  • Specials: Jump spinning roundhouse, cartwheel kick.
  • Clinch: Full dominance drills.
  • Self Defence: Weapon threat escape strategies.
  • Thai Language: Review 1–10, “Yud” = stop.
  • Culture: Perform full Wai Kru for group.
  • Conditioning: 70 push-ups, 150 sit-ups, 40 burpees.

Stage 10 – Black (Final Level)

  • Boxing/Kicks: Mastery of all combinations, setups, ring craft.
  • Specials: All advanced Muay Boran/spinning/jumping strikes.
  • Clinch: Total mastery — sweeps, knees, locks.
  • Self Defence: Full applied Muaythai scenarios.
  • Thai Language: Demonstrate 1–10 fluently + all strike names.
  • Culture: Teach and lead complete Wai Kru & Ram Muay.
  • Conditioning: 100 push-ups, 200 sit-ups, 50 burpees, 3-min plank, 3 rounds padwork.
